The Chaos Emeralds are 7 emeralds with mystical powers that can turn thoughts into power, give energy, warp time and space with a technique called Chaos Control, and they can be used to create nuclear or laser based weapons. The seven colors are yellow, purple, red, white, blue, orange, and green.
Sonic the Hedgehog can be transformed into Super Sonic once all 7 Chaos Emeralds have been collected. Super Sonic has super strength, is virtually invisible, jumps high, runs fast, and has an attach called the Super Sonic Boost where he surrounds himself in a blue or gold aura and strikes his enemy. Super Sonic shares his power with Silver the Hedgehog and Shadow the Hedgehog to make them Super Silver and Super Shadow. They, too, have invincibility, super speed, and enhanced reflexes. Together, Super Silver, Super Sonic, and Super Shadow defeat Solaris.
